ABOUT ¡MAS!
¡Más! Festival is a multidisciplinary arts and cultural festival based in Joshua Tree, California, bringing together artists, performers, and communities through a shared celebration of cultural expression.
The festival grew out of ¡Hay Festival!, an annual celebration of Mexican and Mexican-American heritage in the High Desert. Founded to strengthen connections between communities and their cultural traditions, ¡Hay Festival! brought music, dance, film, theater, food, and traditional arts to Joshua Tree.
Building on this foundation, ¡Más! Festival expanded its programming to embrace cultures and artistic traditions from around the world. Through performances, film screenings, exhibitions, and community gatherings, the festival creates opportunities for cultural exchange, discovery, and dialogue.
At its heart, ¡Más! Festival is about interculturality: how cultures meet, influence each other, and find new expression through art. Grounded in the creative community of the High Desert, the festival celebrates both the preservation of cultural heritage and the possibilities that emerge when different traditions and perspectives come together.
¡Más! Festival is is a collaborative effort produced by Licia Perea and José García Davis of Latina Dance Project; Terry and Rolo Castillo of Joshua Tree Retreat Center and ArtTrap; Ray Rodriguez of Joshua Tree Voice; and Martín Mancha.
